  Although the store is quite new and a vast improvement to the previous Foodland it's time my knowledge of the industry ,Sobeys various pricing program and this particular location is expressed. I'm appalled at the lack of responsibility that a food supplier Sobeys chooses to offer-provide to a community when they are the principal location for a our weekly food basket... The geographical location to pretty much a national provider does not give them the right to be opportunistic. To not offer competitive or equal pricing to their same banner (Foodland) in a more competitive location Owen Sound 35 minutes away is just disrespectful to the people that need a quality food basket supplier. The older senior residents and low income families are victimized by often having no option but to shop there. I fortunately do as do others I have seen in the competive market places. I am not and will not shop their unless I have an immediate need. Even then I can get milk bread and eggs elswhere at a lower price. The tourists have no options and often don't really care for their cottage exposure while visiting. Its however is shame and when a region such as the one I reside is held hostage to an opportunity by a corporate strategy. I will see the vast number of supporters of my now voiced comment at the numerous optional locations throughout Owen Sound. Corporate strategy with across the board pricing made IGA a respected hometown provider. Food for thought Sobeys if perchance you read this and care to step up to the bigger plate of being the place we can respect. You'll make your money and we will help !

  For a grocery store in a small town, Wiarton Foodland does a great job. They have tons of variety and are open 24 hours which I really appreciate. Yes you can sometimes find some cheaper prices if you travel to Owen Sound, but in general I find the selection, service and convenience excellent.
